This time around it looks like Microsoft marketing is getting ahead of the next generation mini-Tablets, a.k.a. Origamis, a.ka. UMPCs and setting expectations at a more reasonable level than for the first gen UMPCs.
There’s very little talk of $500 devices. That’s good in the sense that there was such a huge disconnect between the price expectations from the community and the OEMs.
As I’ve blogged before, this isn’t the first time this price expectations have gotten ahead of actual shipping products. And it won’t be the last.
