HardwareTablet PCTime is up for Spot Watch

Time is up for Spot Watch

The Spot Watch is dead. Jon Canan from Microsoft announced the timely passing of Spot Watch on the SpotWatch forums here.

“…the Smart Watches with MSN Direct have sold out and are no longer for sale. While we continue to move forward with MSN Direct and seeking out new opportunities for devices that would benefit from the MSN Direct service, we, along with our watch partners, do not have immediate plans to create a new version of the Smart Watch.”

I just checked to see if Peter Rysavy is online. Why? Because of all the people I know he was one of the biggest advocates of the Spot Watch concept even despite his intense concern and criticism of some of its early problems. I’d be curious to find out if Peter still has his Spot Watch service.

Besides a keen interest in the Spot Watch, Peter was a Tablet PC MVP for awhile–one of the absolute brightest ones if you ask me. Always making you think. I miss his blogging insights about how the Tablet space could be made better.
