Are you looking for an ultra-thin, ultra-light (3.3lbs), 11+ hour battery life, full-sized (12.1″ display) Tablet PC? Then you may want to check out the T8140 Tablet PC which Fujitsu announced today. One catch for many of us, the Tablet PC will only be available in Japan starting sometime in July.
The quoted 11 hour battery life sounds extremely impressive. To achieve this run time, Fujitsu has packaged together a 1.06 GHz U7500 Core 2 Duo ULV processor, 16 or 32 GB solid state disk, an optional extended battery, and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Yes, Vista is available, but no battery life is given when selecting this OS. For those of us that have switched to Vista and can’t go back (or should I say don’t want to go back)–I don’t want to give up the search box in the start menu nor the improved WiFi management), it would be nice to have some battery numbers for Vista. Is there a negligible difference? 10% (which would be about an hour less)? 30% (or 3 hours less)? Hopefully, when this sleek looking Tablet begins to hit the streets, someone will let us know where it stands with Vista.
