USB stick webcam for Tablet PC?

Here’s something I’ve wanted for a long time for my Tablet PC: USB webcam sticks. All I want is a webcam that plugs directly into the USB slot–no wires, just a camera. It’s perfect for a slate Tablet PC or a convertible Tablet in slate mode.

Akihabara News is reporting that Syndt from Korea is going to make just such a webcam in the Volvox product line.

Very cool. Can’t wait to see them hit the market. Hope they aren’t too expensive and that the camera angle or direction can be changed.

Instesd of waiting for such a webcam to come along, I did a mod two years ago on a Creative Notebook webcam by attaching the USB plug directly on the camera minus the cable. The webcam can then be plugged into the top of my ST4110, the lens can be rotated to face the front or the back of the tablet.
