Indiana State University requires notebooks for Freshmen

Slashdot has this thread on Indiana State University (ISU) requiring all students to have notebook computers. Which notebook do they recommend? A Lenovo ThinkPad. Oh, soo close. Why not a Lenovo Tablet PC?

It turns out the article referenced in the Slashdot posting is part of a more complete press release on the Lenovo site. The unprinted parts are quite interesting. The university has information on its notebook initiative here.

It turns out that ISU is awarding entering Freshmen with a ThinkPad if their high school grades are 3.0 or greater. Nice.

I still wish there were Tablets in the mix.
