Tracking Steve Fossett’s distance record attempt

I’m tracking Steve Fossett’s attempt to break the non-stop distance flying record. As of this morning he’s approaching the coast of California. He plans on flying all the way around the world and then over the Atlantic again. If he makes it he’ll land in London and will have travelled almost 27,000 miles.

Update: We just noticed that Fossett’s Mission Control Center (Live Feed requires Windows Media Player) has a Tablet PC among its spread of computers and displays. It looks like it’s a Toshiba M200. Too bad I wasn’t able to get a screencapture of the person actually using the Tablet. They were walking around with it for awhile. Maybe someone else can get a better shot.

(To capture the picture we used SnagIt and turned off “Hardware Acceleration.” Without doing this the video feed is captured as a black box.)
