In response to the New York Times glowing article about the cute pen-top computer for the preteen market, Rex Hammock asks would a kid rather want “a pen-top computer or a $100 iTunes gift card” for a holiday gift?”

LeapFrog has done an admiral job with the Fly pen-top computer. In a recent visit to Target I was impressed by all the Fly software and accessories available. And as a gadget, it does catch my attention. But $100? Eh. It seems like it should be $49. After all, if the Fly pen is all that good, people will be spending several times that in terms of its “consumables.”
