Digitizer company FinePoint Innovations sold

The makers of HP’s TC1000 original digitizer, FinePoint Technologies, was acquired by InPlay yesterday. I hope this means good things for Steve Caldwell, Rodney Standage and crew at FinePoint. It’s good to have other digitizer manufacturers besides Wacom. It’s through competition that we’ll see continued innovation and better prices.

FinePoint and its engineers have an amazing lineage which stretches back to some of the early days of slates and tabletop digitizers for PCs.

I wish them well under their new corporate umbrella.
