Tablet PC predictions may have been off the mark, but not the Tablet PC itself

David Coursey of eWeek tries to explain away the missed analyst Tablet projections for Tablet PC sales.

His argument is that Tablet projections were initially too high leaving some to think that Tablets have not done well–when in actuality the Tablet is doing fine. It just needs some tuning, he suggests.

Here’s his recipe for stronger Tablet growth:

* Better integration of ink into the Office product line
* Even better handwriting recognition
* Even lower price premiums

Reasonable enough.

Sounds like engineering innovation is needed all around.
