The other afternoon the power went out while I was programming.

My first concern was over whether I’d lost anything. I hadn’t. I was working on my Tablet and the battery kicked in to save me.

My second thought was: “Is it just in the office or is the power out elsewhere?” As I was just about to get out of my chair to check to see if everyone else had lost their electricity, I realized the Tablet had the answer. I drilled down to the Wireless Network Connections dialog to see how many access points were visible. None. Normally I’d see two or three neighboring access points. No doubt now. The power was completely out in the area.
