Intel’s Mobile Entertainment PC

Seems that full-functioning, ultra-mobile PCs are all the rage. At WinHec, Intel is showing off an 8.9″ diagonal (wide screen) handheld concept PC–similar to what Bill Gates showed off in his keynote speech on Monday.

Lora has posted some details on WhatIsNew.

Lora was quite impressed with the concept computer–in large part because it was developed using the Sonoma chipset. It’s a “real computer” in there, although Intel is positioning it as a mobile entertainment computer–I imagine for watching movies, particularly because of its wide display.

Like the other ultra-mobile PCs, this one has a touchscreen, but I’m guessing it can run the Tablet OS, just like the demo unit Bill Gates was showing.

Syncing is going to be a big deal with devices like this. They have to be iPod simple.
