From Lockergnome the article What Tablet PCs can do for you: “Far and away, the best thing about tablet PCs is their mobility.”
Agreed. Ink is a terrific new degree of freedom, but mobility ranks high for me too. In fact, one of my favorite Tablet applications is Skype. It has nothing to do with ink (although it would be great if it did), but Skype, combined with a Tablet, combined with WiFi makes a terrific combination. In effect, my Tablet running Skype becomes a cordless speaker phone that I can carry around with me. And while I’m talking I can share pages in OneNote, ink in MSN Messenger, or whatever. If I add a webcam, the experience can be even more expressive. Yes, I can do all of this with a notebook, but with a Tablet it’s an even more mobile experience. I can easily move (read that “walk”) around with the Tablet, without balancing a running clamshell notebook in my hand.
