InformationWeek reports: “The mobile PC market is growing faster than any other computing platform, according to In-Stat/MDR.” There’s no doubt. And Tablet PCs are right in the mix.
The article continues: “Mobile PCs account for a quarter of all PCs shipped, and that will increase to close to a third by 2008 as many consumers and businesses switch to mobile PCs as their preferred platform.”
Gordon Haff, an analyst with Illuminata, puts it succinctly, “The mobile market is really where the action is.”
More and more customers want to run unplugged and it looks like Intel, AMD and others are going to help make it happen. This is good news for Tablet enthusiasts. Let’s hope that the chipset race will make Longhorn-quality graphics feasible for our future Tablets.
