Reagan, Trump, and Bush were presidents during 7 of the top 15 drops of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. If this table is expanded to the top 20, then 80% of the large drops occurred during a republican president's tenure in office.

Search stats for this blog

The Google search stats from the other day got me thinking…what are the top items people are searching for when they hit this blog? “Tablet PC,” I guessed. I was wrong–at least for the month of December. They are (from most common to least):

1. plane crash video
2. christmas cards
3. longhorn clock
4. messenger ink

Kind of funny, but they make sense.

The top item was because of a RC airplane crash video I had linked to. Word of the video spread across the net and as people Googled for it they ran across my blog entry that linked to it.

The “christmas card” search string probably surprised people. They wound up on a mostly Tablet PC blog. Why? Because I’ve mentioned the homemade Christmas Cards we’ve made in Journal and handwritten notes on with the Tablet PC. In the month of December lots of people are looking for online Christmas cards. I guess it wasn’t a bad thing that they also got to see how Tablets might fit in here.

“Longhorn clock” is another surprise that’s not that surprising. I’d given mention to Longhorn (the next version of Windows) needing an alarm feature. Looks like other people are interested in the capabilties of the Longhorn clock too.

Search string number four is the real “no-surprise” search string. I’ve mentioned my likes and dislikes of MSN Messenger quite a bit so it makes sense that people will run into this site when searching for info on it.
