One thing you’ll notice is how colorful the sample notes posted in these articles are. Is this just for show? Nope. I find myself doing the same thing. When I’m using pen and paper to take notes I just one color pen. It’s too much work, I guess, to pick up a pen with a different color. In a Tablet PC program a different color is only a tap away–so I tend use color more.

I often try to use each color to mean specific things. For instance, I might scribble things in red to mark critical items. Or blue to mean items for a particular project.
