Robert Scoble: The Tablet PC team had a nice suprise for me tonight. Arin Goldberg called me up and said “can you come over to my office?”
Oh, oh, was I in trouble? Did I say something wrong?
Not exactly. Arin gave him a new Toshiba Tablet PC. Cool.
A convertible like the Toshiba Tablet PC is ideal for Scoble. He’s often Outlook bound and needs the speed of the keyboard. However, for notetaking, extending his autograph collection, and reading 995 feeds–whether standing in an airport line or laying on his couch, Tablet mode will come in handy.
That’s the beauty of a convertible Tablet PC: It has all the utility of a regular notebook plus the ability to flip around into a Tablet mode that you can easily carry around. It’s quite liberating, for instance, to run Skype (and/or MSN Messenger) on a Tablet. You can walk around the house or office talking or inking away. It’s a bit like using a coordless phone–although Google and the rest of the Net is right there.
