Tablets in healthcare

Dave Kingston blogs some tremendous advise for IT departments that are considering Tablet PC deployments.

First, he outlines the benefits of deploying Tablets. He starts out simply: “If you don’t know what a tablet PC is you should check them out.” My favorite quote: Tablets are “9 million times (scientific calculation) better than a PDA or other small screen device for inputting and reading information.”

But Dave isn’t all hyperbole. In a follow-up post he gives some real-world Tablet issues to think about and plan for. He suggests:

* Tablet pens without batteries
* View anywhere displays
* Talk with ISVs about what software they support on the Tablet.
* Avoid reworking all your forms just for the Tablet

Great read.
