GDI+ buffer overrun

If you’ve written an application recently that supports JPEG files using GDI+, you’ll want to read this securty bulletin.

Now it looks like SP2 deployments are not affected, so that’s good for Tablet PCs. However, since Tablet developers often leverage OS components, such as the JPEG processing capabilities in GDI+, you’ll want to read through the bulletin, if at least to be prepared to answer questions from customers as to whether your application is affected. The technical details are in the “Vulnerability Details” of the bulletin.

The list of affected applications is fairly extensive in the bulletin so by the time you sit down to fiigure out if your machine is affected at the OS level, in your version of Office, or apps you develop, maybe someone like Brian Johnson will help distill this down a bit more.
