I recall my high school students several years ago chiding each other about having a MySpace account. Most had deleted them by the time they were 15 years old. The same trend is happening with my current high school students and Facebook. The cool kids are on SnapChat and not Facebook.
Research out of Europe from Global Social Media Impact Study supports the idea that older teens are not interested in Facebook.
Daniel Miller, professor of Material Culture at University College London, suggests, “Mostly they [teens] feel embarrassed even to be associated with it.”
