WIPTE 2009 Calls for Papers, Posters and Videos

The Workshop on the Impact of Pen-Based Technology on Education (WIPTE)
is accepting paper, poster, and video submissions for its 2009 conference.

Deadline: June 15th, 2009.

Submissions Content: Describe experiences in deploying pen-based technology in educational environments. Papers, posters, and videos will be accepted from both K12 and Higher Education institutions.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed.

Selected papers will appear in a Monograph to be published by Purdue University Press and authors will present these papers at WIPTE 2009.

Paper Selections Announced: by July 24, 2009.

Poster and video submissions are also being accepted.

WIPTE Conference: October 12-13, 2009 at Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).

Homeschoolers should contact the WIPTE organizing committee to clarify how you too might participate in this conference. For excample, WIPTE 2008 included a class of students who presented about their use of Tablets.

Robert W. Heiny, Ph.D. is a retired professor, social scientist, and business partner with previous academic appointments as a public school classroom teacher, senior faculty, or senior research member, and administrator. Appointments included at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Peabody College and the Kennedy Center now of Vanderbilt University; and Brandeis University. Dr. Heiny also served as Director of the Montana Center on Disabilities. His peer reviewed contributions to education include publication in The Encyclopedia of Education (1971), and in professional journals and conferences. He served s an expert reviewer of proposals to USOE, and on a team that wrote plans for 12 state-wide and multistate special education and preschools programs. He currently writes user guides for educators and learners as well as columns for TuxReports.com.
