Experiment

An experiment:

This is just a test to see how the Mogulus broadcast platform works today. I’m thinking about using it for the Tablet PC Gathering at CES as well as broadcasting from within CES. The reason is that it naturally supports multiple cameras from multiple computers. And, further, multiple people can play tag-team producer. I’m not too sure if this is the way to go though. UStream.tv’s simplicity is attractive to me. In addition, it provides a record feature. Hmmm.

Maybe we should broadcast live from UStream.tv, record as we go, and then edit and upload segments to a Mogulus storyboard loop. That way if people miss the live feeds they can see a looped replay of the video segments created via UStream.

Update: What I’m thinking now is that if we all pull together we can create one “channel” for people to watch of all the Tablet goings on at CES. We can use a mix of live and recorded broadcasts. I’d be willing to be the conduit for this.

What I’m thinking is that people could twitter their links as replies to a special account we set up. That way direct links are also all public and in one spot–albeit the format would be a little ugly.

If you have a Tablet/UMPC/MID related video that you’ve recorded or you want to broadcast live we could add it to a channel that anyone could watch. This way people don’t have to watch live always and multiple channels won’t be competing with one another. We’d need a textural schedule to list out all the segments so people could watch the direct segment they want or just sit and watch the Mogulus broadcast stream.

What do you think? Will this work? I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes of doing their own broadcasting, but it seems like if we pull together we’ll have the most complete, broad CES Tablet/UMPC/MID coverage at a single source. Again, there should be a textual schedule with links to the original content (i.e. YouTube) so that people can just jump to a specific video if that’s what they want.

Sound good? Think in terms of a Tablet video aggregator for CES.

Update #2: Robert Scoble points to another video aggregator today called WorldTV. One of its advantages is that the video can be played back in a nice resizing window with a minimalist interface. Nice.
