Silverlight to Flickr to Twitter tool almost ready

A first pass at the Ink-enabled Silverlight publishing tool is almost ready.

I hope to post a link to the Silverlight app and post some instructions sometime tomorrow.

Basically what the app does is enable you to sketch out a simple drawing or jot down some notes and post them in image format to your own Flickr account.

Optionally you can also post your message/drawing to Twitter. Currently Twitter keeps posting tinyurls, which is unfortunate because GTalk works so well with Flickr URLS; it embeds a Flickr viewer right in GTalk itself. Top notch.

Anyway, here’s a snapshot of the output the program creates: A Flickr image (shown bottom right), a Tweet (shown in the background), and the Flickr image that the Tweet URL points to (bottom left):

Besides providing a quick way to jot down some notes, there are some great features that are missing:

1. Post to a blog

2. Import an image from Flickr that can be inked up and sent back to Flickr.

3. Improve the ink editing and drawing tools.

Oh, and behind the scenes there’s an even bigger suprise on its way. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll get to it this weekend, though now that I think about it I probably won’t have the stamina this go round. However, keep your eyes open from some whiteboard fun. (Is that a big enough hint??)
