So you want to be a fly on the wall to watch something?
A life-size, robotic fly has taken flight at Harvard University. Weighing only 60 milligrams, with a wingspan of three centimeters, the tiny robot’s movements are modeled on those of a real fly. Researchers say that such small flying machines could one day be used as spies, or for detecting harmful chemicals.
Hmmm. I wonder how long after a robot fly exists in mass market for a parent to launch one to watch a babysitter, or an investigative reporter to insert one into a classroom. Perhaps an aspiring engineering student will come up with a countermeasure.
