One example she offered described using teacher made reading words flash cards with a student who did not read. By the end of the year, the student had a 900 word reading vocabulary.

I forgot to mention in that post about the flash card program TabletFlash for Tablet PCs.

TabletFlash V1.1 is a flashcard program for Tablet PCs. Handwrite anything you like on a series of blank cards, record audio hints or answers for each card, and then step through the cards either sequentially or randomly. Now supports writing on the back of each card.
