Last Sunday Morning, February 18, 2007, Barry Petersen took CBS viewers to a future filled with robots.
With an aging population and a declining birthrate many in Japan are looking at robots as the next generation of workers and companions (bold added) or helpers in the home – especially for the elderly.
They showed robot dolls, androids with emotion, an android teacher in front of a class of people, an android conductor in directing an orchestra of real people playing real instruments, companions of elderly people, and of course, Honda’s Asimo.
Teachers will find it useful to check with your friends for a copy of this feature. Fascinating how advanced robotics have become. I didn’t know robots could do so much already!
