Lora told a story tonight over IM about two MIT students who lived on the 5th floor of a dorm. They were tired of going to check the laundry room all the time, so they hooked up a server to the washing machines and dryers, wrote a script that checked when the machines turn off and put the script online at Random Hall Laundry. Now, those are creative students! Isn’t it great to work with such initiative! Congrats, people, for entering the legends of MIT!
That is a brilliant problem solving exercise, well done to their teachers also.FromAussie
Your story isn’t completely accurate. Random Hall, the MIT dorm where the Laundry Server was developed, is only 4 stories tall.
