Tablet PCs at World Wide Partner Conference

Loren says he sees lots of Tablet PCs at the Microsoft World Wide Partner Conference earlier this week in Boston. He was demonstrating Ink Gestures in the Motion Tablet PC booth. He describes his other activities.

I did a quick survey of all the notebooks and Tablets I saw people using in the halls this morning to see if the numbers matched my intuition. Out of 46 notebooks, 14 were Tablets. Not bad. My guesstimate is that the overall ratio was a little lower, but it indicates how strongly Microsoft and the Microsoft Partners have accepted Tablets. That’s good to see.

That’s good news, Loren. Encouraging. I wonder how many of the Tablet PC users included educators or ITs working in schools? I haven’t heard, but I expect at least one educator or ed Tech attended with a Tablet PC.

Ink Gestures is an editing companion for Tablet PC users. InkGestures is a Microsoft Word 2003® Addin. It enables you to edit documents using the pen on a Tablet or Ultra-Mobile PC. InkGestures provides you with access to over twenty copyediting commands.
