RVs and Mobile PCs

Chuck Woodbury, editor of RV Travel, describes his collection of mobile electronic devices that he carries in his RV.

Years ago, when I began traveling by RV, I had to leave my stereo at home. Today, I have a tiny iPod that holds about 100 albums. … I carry a cellular telephone … I use that same cell phone to connect to the Internet from RV parks or just by the side of the road. My tiny laptop computer folds up when not in use and can be stored in a drawer. When I am not using it as a computer, it doubles as a DVD player and monitor, allowing me to watch wide-screen, high-definition Hollywood movies or videos I have taken with my pocket-size digital camcorder.

It’s that time of year again. Teachers, administrators, and students are making summer travel plans. Many have started dewinterizing their RVs.

How does Woodbury’s list compare with the the lifestyle technology you carry when you travel? Will you take your Tablet PC or Ultra Mobile PC with you? How do you plan to use that technology to assist your classroom instruction? What summer assignments will you plan for students to use mobile technology in preparation for next academic year?
