Authentic handwritten signatures need no paper

WACOM Europe GmbH, in cooperation with Softpro, has developed a pen tablet which digitizes handwritten signatures in high quality directly when writing on a LC display. It is the first device using Wacom’s “Penabled” technology, which is specifically optimised to fulfil the needs of trustworthy signature verification. The partners presented their concept study for the first time to the world audience at the Cebit “Signature Pavilion.”

Tablet PCs and specially selected writing tablets or pen pads capture static images and dynamic (biometric) signals of a signature.

In February, Motion Computing and Softpro introduced new products for protecting doctors and hospitals from unnecessary costs while streamlining hospital operations. Electronic Patient Information Documentation using a Tablet PC and secured with biometric handwritten signatures was demonstrated at an Information Technology show in San Diego.

I wonder if educators can use an adaptation of the dynamic (biometric) signal analysis code as a diagnostic tool to assist learners with writing and related physical disabilities?
