Yesterday was new phone time. I picked up a Cingular 2125 SmartPhone at a local Cingular store.
This is my first SmartPhone and I’m extremely excited about using it at conferences as well as tweaking content for it–particularly drawings from TabletPCBlogs.
Impressions so far? The phone is light, a comfortable size, has a bright display although a tad difficult to read outdoors in the bright Phoenix light.
My one day of hands-on experience with Windows Mobile has been the longest I’ve spent with the OS. As I’m learning what it can do, I think that I keep running into “features.” I’m kind of surprised by this. I think the iPod has spoiled me.
I haven’t been successful at actually browsing anything on the web. Why? Because I haven’t read the documentation yet. Hehe. When I try to bring up the IE browser, I get a Cingular advertisement and until I understand what I’m supposed to do or if there are any additional charges for clicking any buttons, I haven’t gotten to the web yet. I will, but I’m cautious.
Update: I rebooted the phone and this time I can see the web. I’m reading TabletPCBlogs right now! Cool.
