Here’s one of the best learning sites I found at NECC 2005. Vocabulary.com offers intellectually stimulating free activities to build vocabulary. I like intellectually stimulating, learning focused sites.
Separated into 3 levels of difficulty, these free interactive vocabulary puzzle and activity sessions use Latin and Greek “roots and cells” to help decode words. Over 16,000 schools have already registered to use these activities.
The developers of this site understand implicitly that learning content rests in vocabulary and logic (as do standardized tests). They offer ways for learners to build vocabulary rapidly.
