10,000 Vermont Residents Still Without Power

Approximately 10,000 Vermont residents are without power three days after a brutal snow storm hit the area. Over 100,000 residents were without power at the peak of the outages. An official believes power will not be restored to everyone until the end of the weekend.

“It was an extremely difficult storm,” said Governor Shumlin, who said 7 to 8 inches of snow was visible from the air encasing power lines in some spots. Parts of Vermont received more than a foot of snow Tuesday and Wednesday, including 19.5 inches in Orwell. — ABC News

The Governor stated during a press conference,  “I encourage Vermonters to do what we do best in situations like these: each help your neighbors who might be without power for long periods of time,” Shumlin said. “Ensure that we take care of each other because obviously this could be dangerous.”
