Probbaly the only place to find XP Pro for sale would be eBay or do a Google
search.

If that is all you need
would http://www.logmein.com (Free Version)
work for you?

If that doesn't work you can get it on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-Professional-UPGRADE-SP2/dp/B00022PTT8
(I'd Worry about buying software from eBay it may be already registered.)

Check out www.teamviewer.com. Great remote access software that's free for
personal use. Much easier to use than what's built into XP.

Microsoft has never published such an item, specifically microsoft has always
said "thier is no upgrade from xp home to xp pro".They have said only a new
installation of xp pro (format hd),will/should be done.Folks have done an
upgrade, however the similarites of the 2 can/will cause OS conflicts...Many
installations have corrupted the OS after the install & they end up at these
web pages looking for help.

On the side of my XP Pro upgrade box, it says it will upgrade : Windows98
(including SE), Windows Millenium Edition, Windows NT 4.0 (SP 4 or later),
Windows 2000 Pofessionnal and Windows XP Home Edition.

In the included Quickstart Guide, it says nothing about a new installation.

Don't listen to Andrew E., XP Home can be upgraded to XP Pro. Andrew E.
has always posted the same drivel about this but not *once* has he ever
posted a link to his famous Microsoft article where they state that XP
Home cannot be upgraded to XP Pro. On many occasions others have
supplied all kinds of links to Microsoft articles where they say the
opposite of what he says but he has never bothered to read the
information and he continues to post his false information. You telling
him that the information on the upgrade box contradicts him and confirms
that the upgrade is possible will not make any difference, it will
confirm to the OP that XP Home can be upgraded to XP Pro but the next
time someone asks the same question Andrew E. will be back here posting
the same nonsense. Andrew E. probably saw information about XP Pro x64
but he can't figure it out, he doesn't know the difference between the
x64 and x86 versions.

that's because the box knows more, and is more truthful, than "AndewE".

This is a false statement.

Two more false statements.

Home to Pro is one of the easiest upgrades.

Because you have nothing else to do except to attack whoever is helping on
these newsgroups. I haven't seen any relevant messages posted by you except
those promoting your sister or mother running their escort agency with Peter
Foldes.

Andrew,

Wrong, there is an upgrade from XP to XP Pro.

It is the benefit of all, if you try to post as accurate information as you
can.

Please VIEW This Webpage to see the Upgrade paths
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292607

You will see that there is an Upgrade path.

Thank you
Russ

The fact that the upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional is supported
has been pointed out here to Andrew E. *many* times. I and many others
have cited several Microsoft web pages that demonstrate it (as you
also do below).

You are wasting your breath with Andrew E.. Despite his having often
been demonstrated to be wrong on this issue, and on almost every other
issue he posts on, he continually ignores all of our corrections and
posts the same incorrect info over and over again.

There are several people here who regularly post poor or inaccurate
information, but Andrew E. is probably the worst of them all.

Ken,

I saw your other post. and other posts from Andrew
(He's probably a Mac guy)

I just wanted more than 1 MVP responding with Correct Information
This newsgroup get's duplicated to Google and other websites
the more "FACTS" we can present in opposition
Will mean less people will listen to what he posted.

So I know this is a "Tilting Windmills"
However as you know we can't stop miss Information
we can only Correct it.

This reminds me of one of "Ron White's" famous quotes.
