hi folks,
need some help i have a blue screen of death? and while i know everyone
gets it and i can google solutions till the end of eternity i actually
know whats wrong already and have a fix. problem is i can boot past the
blue screen to fix it. So i was wondering if someone could help me. I
only have to get in to replace w2_32.dll which i think was deleted by my
anitvirus after an infection( the next time i reboot after running and
healing the virus i got the blue screen and the virus was in the .dll)
Is there any way i can get in through the recovery console? or by
booting from a USB, i dont have the windows disk (dell are real smart
putting that kind of thing on your harddrive when you get a new
computer)and had to boot from a USB (XP on a stick)drive before. Now as
much as Ive booted from a USB before i remember how complicated it was
to make one to begin with. If i have to i will but once booted from the
USB would i be able to acces the XP files on my computer to replace the
.dll, i have it downloaded and all on the computer so only have to unrar
it and move it to my System32! easy! well apart from the blue screen
bit......
Any and all help much appreciated!!
ps i dont have the XP cd but dell computers store a copy of the cd on
the hard dive at Ci386 i was wondering if there is a utility in there
that i could use to replace the files. and if so could it be accessed
from the recovery console? and solve all my problems
