WP as portal only, admin/mods access only

Hi,
Could anyone help me decide if Xenword would be the solution I'm looking for? I want to create a landing page (I thought WP would be good for that) which would have two sidebars and a carousel of images (ad banners) in the center. It has to be responsive too.

The sidebar content would be fed from my Xenforo forum, the carousel would be a WP plugin fed from within WP.

Would Xenword be a good add-on to perform this?

This would depend on the extent of the use of WordPress.

You might consider http://xenaddons.com/ -- and wait for AMS released by Bob. He's an excellent programmer and the Article Management System is better tied to XenForo.
