windows viewer cache

I was wondering where I can find the windows viewer cache, I notice that if I open a .jpeg file for example in windows viewer and then delete the file, or remove the external media where the file is located, the picture stays open in windows viewer, this means it must be cached locally but I cannot find where. I tried deleting the contents of the Temp folder but this didn't work.

Does anyone know where the cache files are stored?
