Windows DLL exploits boom; hackers post attacks for 40-plus apps

They stated:

If attackers can dupe users into visiting malicious Web sites or remote
shares, or get them to plug in a USB drive -- and in some cases con them
into opening a file -- they can hijack a PC and plant malware on it.

So don't visit malicious web sites or do something stupid and you will be
OK. That leaves you out. I am sure you've already been infected because
you are a typical dumb user. Need proof you are a dumb user? You use
Ubuntu!

And how, pray tell, does one tell the difference between a malicious web
site and one that isn't? Malicious web sites don't exactly announce
their maliciousness.

Bad advice. See above.

Now comes one of the nymshifter's favorite tactics: shoot the messenger
and bring up Ubuntu:

That leaves you out. I am sure you've already been infected

Um, I don't use Ubuntu. I didn't bring up Ubuntu. You did because you're
obsessed with it.

You're too stupid to figure it out. I only visit sites that I know are
good. On the other hand, you're so dumb, you can't figure out one site from
another. No wonder you are infected.

I was explaining why you are so stupid. You use a product that enhances
your stupidity. So you use MINT. Another idiotic OS that nobody wants or
needs. Get over it. Go to the Mint site and help out those sorry sacks who
are struggling with that INFERIOR OS.

LOL! That's what the hackers want you to do but you can't know if a site
is safe or not until it's too late. IE, Firefox, Chrome, and many other
programs are affected. The only safe way to surf is to not use Windows
and use Linux instead.

I don't worry about it because I surf the Net with Linux.

What would anyone think of a so-called business man (he-he) coming to a
Windows group every day and trolling? The dwarf has got nothing better
to do to fill his day. Sad innit?

Um, warning people on a Windows group about a Windows problem is on
topic. Accusing others of animal sex and other lies is not but you never
comment on that, why?

Spending about a half an hour a day in Usenet does not interfere with
running a business.
