I have a myriad of files from about 8 HDD's I want to dump onto a 1TB drive
(Win7).
I also have a bunch of files already on the new drive with various permission
levels set.
I'm locked out of much of my own stuff, don't know how it happened. I know I
can "take ownership" but I want to just have the files with no owner.
What is the quick and dirty way to do this en-masse? I thought about converting
the drive to FAT32, would that remove all the silly Win7 access rules?
What about coping everything to the drive formatted with a Linux OS?
I just want all my files to be accessible like they were with XP. It very
bothersome to "take ownership", and then try to access them over the (local)
network.
So, my question is... can I just right click a drive and make all it's contents
with no security on them? I can go back later and "own" sensitive stuff and put
them on a separate partition.
I have never had the "access denied" message while logged in as an administrator
pre-Win7, and I am getting frustrated!
