Why do I keep getting this message?

I already have IE8 since january, but I keep getting that annoying message to
download it. I find IE8 is really slow and do not see any improvement over
having IE7 which worked much faster!

Hi,
It's likely that a third-party security/antispyware program interfered with
the installation of IE8 and that program, or another, is causing the
slowness.

At http://www.enhanceie.com > Troubleshooting, look for:
* Problem: IE always goes to
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
* Problem: IE Startup takes a long time (>3 seconds)
* Problem: Slow Page rendering

Also, a browser add-on could be causing the slowness.

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2;
Vista SP1; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64-bit) as well as your IE version
when posting in an IE-specific forum or newsgroup. Please do so in your next
reply.
