Why do I add "trusted sites" if it still wants my input to allow t

It is pointless and incredibly annoying to have to answer that , yes, I want
to open the site I just asked to open when I have gone to the trouble of
adding it as "trusted". I open a new IE8 window, I select a site from my
favorites, it tells me that it's trying to open a site that is on my trusted
sites list. Look, if the program isn't going to allow "trusted sites" to be
truly trusted, don't offer the option. If I don't trust it, it won't be
listed, if I do trust it I'm going to allow it, DUH.

Hi,

Many sites are now using sub-domains to provide content for the root domain.

When you add a site to your Trusted zone use *.domain.com not
http://www.domain.com.

Many sites are using things like the facebook api, google api's and even
live api's to add web services to their sites so when you first go to these
sites you may receive warnings that a web page contains both secure and
insecure content. Web developers don't test their sites correctly and make
mistakes...

If you notice that a web page contains content from another site (eg. a
facebook login button) and you are receiving the IE warning bar, then you
may have to add both sites to your trusted zone (only if you really, really
trust the site you are visiting) to avoid the IE warning bar.

Normally one would only have your banking and mail web sites in your Trusted
Zone. These sites do not use third-party content and are usually well
designed and thoroughly tested.

Be carefully about adding a site to your trusted zone and letting it have
access to your facebook friends list or your online contact lists.

Most web developers do not test their sites on IE. You can blame them. It is
YOUR internet security that IE is protecting.

Regards.

And you're sure you're the *only* one who can add sites to it ?

If so, think again : If you need to use a program to add entries, another
program could do it too.

And thats apart from the fact that the "trusted site" could have changed
after your last visit.

In other words : showing you the site before actually going to it and accept
everything it throws at you (good or bad) you get a last chance to
reconsider.

Windows version? Is the IE window already open to a site in Trust Sites
zone and/or a secure (https://) site?

The problem is that YOU think a site must be composed of just one source.
Wrong.
