Where are the update files?

Flightless Bird
Microsoft updates in XP created files to permit restores if one wanted
to reverse the update. These files could be periodically deleted.

Where are the similar files in W7?

Updates are downloaded to:
C:/Windows\SoftwareDistribution

But there is no similarity with XP so you may give yourself problems
if you try deleting anything.
