What is the best resolution for a flipchart?

I called Promethean tech support Friday to ask the settings to achieve the best resolution for Flipcharts. My beef has been the wasted space to the left and right sides of flipcharts. Promethean generally states to just change the color of the background (World) but I wanted the whole Flipchart to fill the board.

All of this started with an import of PowerPoints last year. The imported PowerPoints defaulted to 960 x 720 and the charts are not well spaced. Changing the charts to 1024 x 768...
