Hi. Come over to Win7 and seems pretty good, the only thing is, what program
do you recommend using to build a website, now FrontPage is no longer?
Thanks in advance.

Seamonkey composer. It comes with the Seamonkey suite from Mozilla. Get
it here: http://www.seamonkey-project.org/ It works just fine on Windows 7.

There is VODA, WebDwarf, PageBreeze, and dozens of others. Do you have
Google?

I like Expression Web, which is essentially just a new version of
Front Page, renamed.

Microsoft often likes to rename their new versions of a product,
rather than giving them a higher version number. Unfortunately that
confuses a lot of people, and thereby does us all a disservice.

The new name for MS Frontpage is:

"SHAREPOINT"

Like Frontpage, it comes in several versions, one I got is from MS
Office2010 System edition, normal people don't get Office2010 System so
maybe don't try & you may get Sharepoint separately, instead.

Good places to get cheaper OEM but LEGAL software are:
Zipzoomfly.com
or
Amazon.com

Newegg is OK also but they focus on hard, not software.

Bullshit.
It's not Microsoft and hence dysfunctional.

Don't pay attention to Alias, 'freeware" & Linux trolls.

Your bets bet is Microsoft's successor to Frontpage, which is now called:

SHAREPOINT

I wish they kept Frotnpage name, but alas - they like to invent new &
confuse people!

Seamonkey Composer works just fine for me. I suspect the dysfunction
you're referring to is your piss poor excuse for a mind.

Frontpage is old dated technology mainly centered around COM. Sharepoint
is center around the .Net technology, and they are paying some big $$$$$
for Sharepoint programmers.

As if you've come up with something credible. To wit:

No, it's called Expression Web. Sharepoint is a business collaboration
platform. See http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/en-us/Pages/default.aspx

Your blatant ignorance might confuse people like you.

If you want to stick with a Microsoft product, Visual Web Developer
2010, Express Edition, is available for FREE, and provides
functionality similar to FrontPage.

It's available as part of the Web Platform Installer:

FrontPage was never a good web design tool, and it was never included in
the operating system, it's part of MS Office or was available stand
alone.

Macromedia Dreamweaver CS would be my first choice.

What has it got over Composer that justifies spending 399 US Dollars?

Wrong answer but that's to be expected and you met all expectations.

I wouldn't know as I don't use any of those. I use Seamonkey's Composer.

Well if you're going to be doing Web development using HTML, JavaScript,
ASP, and Ajax etc etc -- all front-end solutions to building Web pages
quickly, then you'll express yourself and build the pages that can be
imported into Visual Web Developer 2010 EE, by using Expression Web.

Now, if you want to go beyond just building pages, like accessing Web
services, FTP etc, etc, using C# or VB .Net (heavy lifting) kind of
stuff, then you'll need Visual Web Developer 2010 EE.
