View Partial Source in IE8?

Hi all,

This was one of my favorite feature and was extremely useful. It was
packaged as part of the IE5 Dev PowerToys back in Aug. 2001.

I've used it in the past on IE6 and *I think* IE7. I've seen posts saying
it is compatible with IE6 & IE7 but nothing about IE8. I'm using IE8 and
don't want to install it if it will screw anything up.

I have 3 questions:
1. Is there a new updated version? I don't see anything comparable in the
"Developer Tools" feature of IE8.

2. Will the older one work with IE8?

3. Why was this tool "done away with" when it was so popular?

TIA

Hi,
I've installed this on Vista / IE8. It works fine.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/previous/webaccess/webdevaccess.mspx
You may have to right-click the exe/installer and run as administrator.

Why was it not updated?
1. Developer Tools
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd565628(VS.85).aspx has some of the
functions.
2. It was a freebie developed (probably) is someone's spare time.

Thanks for your "helpful" reply - it *should* have been obvious that it was
an accidental duplicate....but then again you are an "MVP"

Hi Don,

Thanks for your reply. I kinda figured that was the case but wasn't sure.

Who knows what'll happen when you access these newsgroups via that clunky
web interface?
