USB keyboard broke

I have a USB keyboard. It started once a week maybe. I could hear
the sound it makes when you plug in a USB device. Sometimes it would
only be the sound and other times the keyboard would stop working. I
could unplug the keyboard and plug it back in and it would work again.
It has started failing once or twice a day. I have tried using other
USB ports but it still fails.

Any suggestions on what it could be? I haven't tried the keyboard on
another machine, but I suspect the keyboard is fine.

If you haven't tried another USB keyboard on your PC to see if it also
misbehaves, and if you haven't tried your keyboard on another PC to see
if it functions properly, you have no logical reason to "suspect" that
the keyboard is fine. You've done nothing whatsoever to eliminate the
keyboard as the source of the problem; though you have determined - by
getting the same results from other USB ports - that you have either a
failing keyboard or a failing motherboard. Which would be easier to test?
