Unable to store intranet password

Hi

I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to ask this question as it relates to windows xp in a business environment.

It's a problem that keeps randomly occurring where people lose the ability to access our intranet site. They get a popup asking for their AD username and password, they insert the credentials and the page loads however the next time they open IE it will have forgotten the password again.

I'm not aware of any changes to group policy that could be causing the issue.

I tried using the key manager to remove the stored credentials but it doesn't fix the problem. The only workaround I have found is to delete this folder in the network and local profile - C:/Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Credentials\userSID\Credentials

Some people won't encounter the problem again while others will see it reccur several times over the course of a few months.

Any suggestions?
