Not if you follow DanS' simple instructions although I can't imagine why
one would want to get of Ubuntu instead of Windows.

Look for libdvdcss. I've used it for years, mostly with xine, and it works
very well.

No. I don't 'got it'.

What you are saying here, is that the tools that MS provides for this
matter to rewrite the boot sector don't work.

And that's the fault of Linux ?

If you're booting from a CD to a recovery console, Linux is not in the
mix what-so-ever. So if the MS tools fail, that can't be blamed on Linux,
GRUB, or GRUB2.

There are 100's of forum posts that say those steps are successful in
Win7 and Vista. And deleting all of the rest GRUB/GRUB2 is as simple as
deleting the Linux partition.

I think the real problem here is you are inept.

Not in my experience of dual-booting they don't. Not unless you
completely delete all of the grub files. Which deleting the linux
partition along does not do.

Listen asshole...I'm not playing the blame game...I'm just saying that
in my experience it's not that simple. Got it?

Doing what? Restoring the bcd with grub still on the HDD?

And deleting all of the rest GRUB/GRUB2 is as simple as

It is? So lets see...first you install Vista/Windows 7 then you install
linux with grub as the boot loader and you're saying all you have to do
is delete the linux partition and grub will be all gone?
Really? You're full of shit!

I think the real problem here is you are inept.

hehehe...you are the one who is inept or lying. You've obviously never
done what exactly what I've said I did and I can tell you haven't. Get
back to me after you've done the exact same setup I said I did, ok?

No that's not what I'm saying and you know it.

You then need to boot from a Windows CD and do the CLI MBR restoration
process.

The *real* problem here is that you keep intentionally changing your point,
or my words, or whatever.

Standard troll behavior........troll.

It doesn't work, if you don't/can't delete all of the grub files/folders
which simply deleting the linux partition will not do.

Standard asshole behavior. Its quite obvious you've never ever done a
Windows Vista/7 install then a linux install as a dual-boot using that
POS boot loader grub (what a pile of crap that is)or else you'd know
exactly what I'm talking about. But keep dancing asshole, its fun
watching you making a jackass out of yourself.

Can't afford enough computers or hard drives so you're forced to dual
boot? Dual booting is not what it's cracked up to be.

hehehe...is that what you think? You are that stupid aren't you.

Dual booting is not what it's cracked up to be.

OK genius.

Then, please, tell us, what is the *exact* procedure, you're 'major
effort' required for restoring the Windows MBR when removing GRUB/GRUB2
from a dual-boot PC ?

If it's not, boot from Windows CD, delete Linux partition, run the 3 CLI
tools at the recovery console, reboot......then what is it ?
