Turn off Restore

My luck abruptly ended when my XP Pro computer got infected with Trojan
Horses. Using Norton Internet Security I got rid of them or so it
appeared. But it seems that the automatic Restore feature automatically
copied viruses and revived them.
Now I need to turn off Automatic Restore, but Restore tab (My
computer/Properties) shows no option to turn it off. This is said to be
the result from non-Administrator account. I installed XP with one user
and no password (blank) so that I need no key strokes at booting. I have
thought that the account I am using is still the administrator account
with all previllages.
If I am not administrator or if I am somehow no in administrator
account, please show me how I can turn off the Restore feature.

I highly doubt it.

System Restore tab doesn't show if you're logged on as a regular user. The
fact that you can see and click System Restore tab says that you do have
admin permissions. The malware infection must have crippled system restore.
Your computer isn't 100% cleaned.

By default, if there is only 1 user, the user becomes the Administrator
(with administrative priveleges).

I'm sure the account has admin privileges.

You can try running malwarebytes to clean up the infection but if I were
you, I'd nuke it and reinstall the OS.

Right click My Computer and select Properties. Select the System Restore
tab, check the "Turn off System Restore for this drive" box and reboot the
computer. All of the previous restore points will be deleted.

Download and install Malwarebytes Antimalware and SuperAntispyware and do
full scans. Use SAS in Safe Mode and again in normal startup.

Thank you to all for your thoughy and suggestions.
Since I "am" Administrator and yet do not see the turn-off option in the
Restore tab, I conclude that the malware that infected my computer
screwed up the system information. The only option appears to be to use
an antimalware software more capable than Norton. Wish me a good luck!

Create a new user and run all your utilities from there to re-gain a foot
hold on your system. Try the restore feature from there to attempt to turn
the feature off.
