It looks like Mac OSX.

All the menus are hidden by default.

Wouldn't it be better to show them with the option of hiding them?

I don't know what your problem is, but I see menus all over the place.

Better go back to your old Speak & Spell.

Try the <Alt> key. Back to DOS? Some people just can't do change.

Suggest you return your computer to the shop and ask the nice man if he will
exchange it for an Etch-a-sketch...

Check out Ubuntu, then. It's free and comes with thousands of free
programs. Get it at http://www.ubuntu.com/

MJ

If you are referring to the default setting of no menu's in Internet
Explorer, Windows Explorer and Windows Live Mail then I quite agree with
you.
Time and time again I get grumbles from my customers about why Microsoft
does that and are ever so grateful when I turn the menus on for them.
Even more so when they see each program has such a different method for
permanently enabling the menu.

It was interesting to hear an MS pro trying to justify this decision to a
group of tech's at a meeting I attended recently.
He fluffed, Ummmm'd, twisted, shuffled his feet and then with a sigh
admitted it was by design.
As he said the decision was made after thousands of hours of product testing
with their main clients.
Yep that group of people that have difficulty conceding the rest of the
world exists.

It seems all the millions MS has poured into workshops has only gone to
prove their average punter finds Menu's 'confusing'
So the obvious answer is to turn them off!
The same logic says if you have trouble understanding the rules then the
rules should be banned.
(think of traffic rules)

Sheesh!

Totally ignores the fact that the rest of the world is more intelligent than
that, can understand words on the screen and don't need a big red 'duh do
it' button.
(Mind you when you look at the current CEO and some of his red neck
comments)
Then there is the default extensions turned off, email store folders buried
deep inside 'hidden' folders etc that get my blood boiling.

FWIW.

Paul.

You mean the file menu in explorer? Right click the task bar and select
to have it show always. Hidden by default is a dumb idea IMO too. So is
changing add/remove programs to program features in the control panel.
Who is going to think that program features actually means to uninstall
an app. It's been that way since Vista and is pure idiocy.

Don't know what version of 7 you have but MINE says "Programs" with a link
underneath "Uninstall a Program". Fairly easy to understand I would have
thought?
