If you cannot boot from the CD anymore with anything then your CDROM
drive is hosed. Ubuntu did NOT do that.

Since I am a consultant working for myself, if you want me to do some work,
I would be happy to help you out. First, I would need a retainer and since
this would be a small job, I think $100 would be fair to start work. How
would you like to pay? Credit card? Wire transfer? Please advise.
